Elder Covered Bridge

Thomas and I went to the Elder Covered Bridge a couple of months ago. I've always seen pictures of covered bridges but had never been to one. It was so cool! This is one of the few covered bridges that are actually functioning. Here is our trip in pictures!

Reese and Liza had such a good time, Reese lost his collar!

The Elder Covered Bridge is definitely a must see on a trip through Watkinsville!

K

I'm PINNING!

So, by now, everyone is aware of Pinterest. I'm obsessed with this website. I love browsing the website and trying to find things to make or bake! I have completed a lot of projects from Pinterest...

Here they are:

Amazing mushrooms, I topped them on steak

Wooden letters, mod podged with scrapbook paper and embellished

Easy calzone...pizza dough and sauce add cheese, and then cut and wrapped

I changed this a little bit from the original on Pinterest

Same concept as BOO letters...sent this to my bestie KK

Easy project! Cut tile backsplash and put in a frame and added M

Potato Crockpot Soup

Potato soup topped with Cheese and bacon bits

Wreath hung on my office door
Close up

I found this recipe on Pinterest, but the girl made her own cake and then dyed it red and then made chocolate ganache...I decided I didn't want to be that overachieving so I made red velvet cake and then layered it with cream cheese frosting and chopped pecans, topping it with coconut.

Now, the greatest mystery to Pinterest, is how to say it...Happy Pinning!

Old Family Recipe

I consider myself lucky that I have a large family that enjoys cooking (except P!) We have plenty of family recipes that are passed down!

One of my favorite recipes is Peanut Butter Smackers. No one knows where this recipe originated from. I asked my mom the other day and she said she learned it from my Aunt Dianne. And there's no telling where she got it from!I googled peanut butter smackers the other day and came across THIS and it doesn't surprise me knowing my aunt :)

You only need 4 ingredients: corn syrup, brown sugar, peanut butter and frosted corn flakes.

Start with a 1/2 cup of corn syrup and 1/3 cup of brown sugar
Mix corn syrup and brown sugar in a saucepan. After it begins to boil, remove from heat and add peanut butter.

Add 1/2 cup of peanut butter

Mix peanut butter into the brown sugar/corn syrup mix until it is smooth
I've played around with the recipe and added granola to it instead of corn flakes. It was okay, but it didn't have the sweet flavor of the frosted flakes.
Mix corn flakes into brown sugar/corn syrup/peanut butter mixture

Drop onto wax paper
Let cool and serve! I like to eat mine warm but it falls apart when its warm...small price to pay for warm gooey goodness!

Love,
K

Pumpkin and Chocolate

I was introduced to this recipe from my bestie, Emma Davis, who has introduced me to all the greats like Harry Potter, Twilight, and Pinterest. `This delicious recipe is actually healthy too :)

Just two ingredients...Devil's Food and Pure Pumpkin

Don't add anything else even though it is tempting

It WILL mix up

Add the mix to cupcake tins, filling half full (they aren't going to be smooth!)

Bake at 350 Degrees according to the package directions on the cake mix

Yummy Chocolate Pumpkin Cupcake

I had a little help making these...don't worry...no pet hair was used in the making of this product

Here are the directions:
1 box devil's food mix
1 small can Pure Pumpkin

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix devil's food mix and pure pumpkin together with a mixer (DO NOT add any ingredients that it says on the back of the devil's food, like eggs, water or oil).
Dip mix into cupcake tins.
Bake for the amount of time it states on the back of the cake mix box. I baked mine at 350 for 21 minutes.

And the best thing about these cupcakes, one only has 181 calories and 3.5 grams of fat! Thanks Emma!

Enjoy!

Love,
K
